1. It is my first class session, what should I expect? What should I bring anything for my first training session?

For your first time, it is important that you arrive 10-15 minutes early so you can fill out our wavier and receive a quick tutorial on the workout/exercises. Proper workout clothing is recommended. Athletic footwear is optional - many of our members enjoy training barefoot. Bring water and a towel, otherwise, just be ready to work hard and have fun!

2. What is a typical 'Group Bootcamp Training' all about?

Group training is designed and lead by your coaches and begins with a dynamic warm-up, the bootcamp workout of the day and ends with stretching.  Instruction, proper form and coaching are the unique properties of each workout at Make It Happen compared to the local commercial club.  That specialized workout and instruction sets us apart and guarantees each person to get the workout of their lives every visit for ultimate results.

Personal Training & Partner/Small Group Training gives that much more customized, individualized coaching, instruction and attention.

Workouts are scaled for every level making Make It Happen training appropriate for all levels.

3.  Are the classes co-ed?

Yes.

4. I have physical limitations, can I still participate?

Yes you can! We currently have members that have hip and knee replacements, Rheumatoid Arthritis, chronic knee, back, shoulder injuries/pain, etc. Master Coach Jennifer Hintenberger has 3 screws in her right shoulder (from a car accident) and Assistant Coach Vice Lujan had a history of L4/L5 & L5/S1 herniated discs (from a powerlifting injury in 2004). Both coaches are very active and can perform all the moves in every workout.

Don't let a physical limitation stop you from giving Make It Happen a try. Our coaches will modify any exercise to suit you.

5. Will I/can I get big and muscular doing Make It Happen training?

If you train hard, eat right and get lots of sleep, you will definitely gain lean mass, lose fat, and yes, you can build muscle mass with the Make It Happen workouts. You will not end up looking like Arnold Schwarzeneger (or any other professional bodybuilder) because the bodybuilding model is designed around and requires steroids for significant muscle growth.

While training hard/heavy at Make It Happen can build impressive amounts of lean muscle, that is not our concern. Strength, conditioning and function is. Those who train for function end up with better form than those who value superficial physique over function. This is one of the beautiful ironies of training.

6. What is the age range of Make It Happen studio members?

Our current members age range is from 15-66 years old.

7. Besides kettlebells, what other equipment is used?

We incorporate the use of agility ladders, battling ropes, medicine balls, suspension trainers (TRX & Jungle Gym), pull-up bars, sledgehammers, weighted vests and most importantly - your body!

8. What type of payments does Make It Happen accept?

Payment Options include cash, check, debit and monthly automatic payment options available with cards that have a Visa, Mastercard, AMEX and JCB logo.

9. Are there bathrooms/showers/lockers?

There are two unisex bathrooms at the studio, big enough to change into workout attire. Currently, there are no showers/locker rooms, but coming soon.

10. What are the instructors/coaches qualifications?

Click here to visit our coaches page to view all the qualifications each possess.

11. Who can join? Is Make It Happen only for athletes or highly conditioned individuals?

Because Make It Happen workouts can be scaled for each individual’s fitness level, anyone can join in on the fun! The only requirements are that you are willing to work hard, to learn new things, have a positive attitude and have the desire and passion to let us help you reach your fitness goals.   You will succeed and see great results.  Currently, we are training individuals of all ages (current members age range is 15-66 years old) in our group bootcamp classes.  We want to coach anyone desiring to get into the best shape of their lives.

12. What should I expect if I train at Make It Happen?

Training at Make It Happen will produce results. PERIOD. If you are not interested in learning new things, getting in the best shape of your life, meeting new friends, working hard, and sweating, then Make It Happen might not be for you.  In addition to expecting results, your coaches guarantee that you will get the best training and coaching each and every session you train with us. We realize how busy everyone’s’ lives can be and know there are other places to train, (although obviously only substandard fitness centers that pales in comparison to our workouts, there ARE other choices) but because you are committed to us for that session (and hopefully more!) we will give you the utmost professionalism and coaching, motivate you to reach your physical potential, foster team building camaraderie and have fun while doing it! Lastly, you can expect us to push you hard in each session, expect to see you at each session and reserve all rights to check-in on you if you are absent (remember commitment and consistency are the keys to success!), we will give you 100% always and want you to match it each and every session!

It is impossible to predict exact rates at which individuals may progress. Everyone evolves at different rates and in different ways as the body make-up has the ultimate control.  Progression depends first and foremost on commitment to us and consistency in the training session, but also on gender, age, health histories, genetics, nutrition, sleep habits, life stressors- work or school, HOWEVER, it does happen - only you can MAKE IT HAPPEN!
